Dealing with attitude issues is a common problem for managers. You can have a terrific team of people, but one bad attitude can be the weak link in the chain that pulls everyone else down. This course will help managers deal with negative attitudes and create positive outcomes for all. Remember that a negative attitude can have toxic effects on a team or an organization. You will learn to identify negative attitudes through a person’s words, tone and body language. You will also learn how a negative attitude can impact performance with the resulting impact on co-workers, culture, the company, and customers.
As a leader, you manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines on a daily basis. How you respond to your team may or may not be your best example of good leadership skills. This course gives you practice at assessing your personal reaction to situations. It will provide you with opportunities to see the impact of your choices and where you want to be as a leader.
It’s important to be able to ask yourself the question – even when you are in a hurry – “am I being a know-it-all manager right now?” Another way to phrase the question may be, “how would I feel if my manager said this to ME?” As leaders, we must always ask ourselves the questions shown here.
Dealing with people that are negative or passive are some of the most challenging relationships. Just being around someone who complains, whines or just doesn’t say anything can cause you to feel frustrated, angry or even helpless.
After completing the program, you will be able to:
Identify how attitude impacts other people.
Describe the negative effects of difficult attitudes on coworkers, customers, a company and its culture.
Use a five-step process to deal with difficult attitudes.
Interactivity: Linear navigation, pre- and post-assessment, user interactions, full motion video
